Common Conditions Treated
Low Back Pain and Sciatica
- Low back pain and sciatica are some of the most commonly treated conditions in our experience. Symptoms can begin with a specific injury or insidiously.
- Some of the most common symptoms include:
- -back pain
- -tingling in foot
- -sharp pain in hip/buttocks
- We treat with the goal of not only eliminating pain, but correcting the movement patterns that caused the issue to begin with. We employ manual therapy, dry needling, therapeutic exercise, and corrective exercise to treat both symptom and root cause.
Neck Pain and Migraines
Unfortunately, these two issues usually go hand in hand. Many times, this is a long standing condition that is treated with medication. However, trigger points in the neck region are often responsible.
Common symptoms include-pain radiating into forehead or top of head-pain that gets worse as the day goes on-occasional tingling in one or both arms
Some common treatments provided include dry needling, medicupping, and postural correction.

Running Injuries
Unfortunately, many runners know what it's like to be injured. Most commonly, knee and hip injuries are the primary complaint. Our approach with runners is different than conventional physical therapy. Conventionally, the painful region is the primary target of intervention.
While treating the painful area is certainly warranted, we also emphasize screening the hips, ankles, lumbar spine, and thoracic spine to identify the root cause of the pain. Whether it is a mobility problem or a stability problem, our movement screen will identify it. Once the problem is identified, we use a combination of manual therapy and corrective exercise to ensure the injury does not return.

Golf Injuries and Injury Inducing Mechanics
The golf swing is a complex rotational movement with many intricate parts. A breakdown of one of these parts can lead to a power leak or an injury. Subsequently, the assessment of the golfer must be equally as intricate.
We approach the golf swing with a segment by segment approach. The efficient player's body works as an alternating series of stable and mobile segments that must work in harmony to avoid injury. If this pattern is broken, injury will ensue.
We love helping our players achieve health and efficient bodies to continue to play the game they love injury free.
Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain is a common complaint among the active population.
Some common limitations are:-trouble reaching out to the side or behind your back-trouble dressing-pain wtih lifting-pain with overhead movement
Due to the complexity of the shoulder joint, there are several structures that can cause pain and limitation.
Common shoulder conditions include:
-labral tear
-rotator cuff dysfunction
-tendinitis
-impingement
At SOKY Performance Physical Therapy, we develop a shoulder regimen that is specific to you. In addition to treating the pain, we look deeper to understand the biomechanical causes and treat the dysfunction at the source.
Some common treatments provided are joint mobilization, dry needling, and correcting muscle imbalances.
Knee Pain
Knee pain is common among runners, golfers, and high intensity fitness lovers. When examining knee pain, we find that the cause is generally not in the knee. The issue tends to be in another region, which places excess force on the knee during exercise or rotational movement. At SOKY Performance, we evaluate each patient as a whole person, rather than a single body part. Upon identifying the root cause of the dysfunction, we implement manual therapy and corrective exercise to ensure the condition resolves and does not return.
